Project Fugu 🐡
- Chromium project; cross-company effort by Google, Microsoft, and Intel
- Incubates new web APIs for rich, interactive, native-like capabilities — “enable new experiences on the web while preserving the web's core benefits of security, low-friction, and cross-platform delivery”
- Proposals and specs discussions are open for public
- It's up to each vendor/company whether and when they adopt these technologies in their own product. Many of the APIs is Chrome only. Some have shipped across major browsers (including Safari, which is not Chromium-based), eg. the Clipboard API.
